It was an Awesome Sunday Arvo

Drinks were flowing...

Sun was shining...

Laughs were aplenty...

Dancing was a must ...LOL

We had such a Brilliant time

Kaz & I even got a pic with the boys

& slightly crazy  :)

We Love It !!!!

 It was too good of an afternoon

cos look what happens when you have too many beers

TYALGUM RIDGE RETREAT

Being School Holidays

 This weeks Adventure was 4 days away 

with my 2 beautiful children 

@ Tyalgum Ridge Retreat :)

Tyalgum Ridge Retreat 

Is situated high inside the northwest perimeter

of the Tweed Valley in Northern NSW.

The Tweed Valley or the " Green Couldron " 

is surrounded by the erroded crater of one of the worlds

largest extinct volcanoes.

Ancient Rainforests , fast flowing creeks , waterfalls &

Outstanding views are the beautiful features of the retreat.

Flanked by 3 spectacular World Heritage National Parks &

In full view of Mt Warning.

   Tyalgum Ridge Retreat is a 350 acre property

    with lots of activities to do :)

The first activity the kids tried was

Archery.

They learned how to load the arrow

into there bow

aim & fire into a target .

Amelia said she felt like Merida out of the movie

Brave 

Haaaa Haaa Haaa

The kids also did Camp Skills where they made and cooked there own Damper,

Which they then got to eat .....They said it was yummy .

After that they went and did a Low Ropes Course

They said it was hard ...but Awesome !!!!

And our instructors

we got to walk 

to this 

Stunning Waterfall

that is on the property.

The walk was through the

Rainforest.

Standing near the waterfall

you could feel how cold 

& fresh the water was.

It was a breathtaking 

experience.

Well the next activity after the Waterfall Walk

was the Flying Fox 

Both of my kids were too scared

So I thought id show them how fun it would be 

How stupid was I ....

This is my worried face...LOL

Up the ladder

&

Up the pole

i went

till 

i reached

the platform

to 

fly down 

It was a challenge for me...

I thought i was gonna have a panic attack..

It was very high off the ground

& i stupidly did look down

But the fear was worth every second of 

feeling the rush

Of coming back down :)

In our family free time 

they had a games room ,

Where we could play Table Tennis.

Which was mine & Rileys favourite :)

We could also play 

a game of billiards.

Not that the kids followed the rules

but they enjoyed playing the

other kids.

There was also a chess board

which we have no idea how to play

LOL

Or the kids chilled out 

on there ipads 

all in a circle on the floor

which was quite cute :)

The kids most preferred thing to do 

was swim in the amazing pool 

and play water games with there friends :)

And when we werent 

busy doing all that

We were taking in all 

of our magnificent surroundings.

The property

has many animals too

such as Horses , Cows ,

Alpacas , Goats , Lizards 

& we even saw a Koala 

It was very peaceful :)

We were there with good friends

Who we adore 

like my friend Chrissi in this pic :)

But we also made some life long friends 

while we were there on holiday...

Everyone seemed to bond so well.

It was like being on grade 6 camp

all over again

but with my kids ..lol

It was sad to leave this beautiful place

none of us wanted to go home :(

Thank you to all of the Brilliant Staff

who made our stay totally out of this world

we hope to see you all again soon xx

So last night 

Kaz & I had the best night ever 

Watching The Mason Rack Band 

@ Cabarita Bowls Club

While having a few drinks.... a dance 

& socialising with the locals :)

THE MASON RACK BAND !!!!

The Mason Rack Band 

Are one of the hardest working Blues & Roots Bands

In Australia

Originating from the Gold Coast.

Mason Rack 

The front man of the band 

Is well known for his Raspy Vocals & Guitar talents ,

mostly for his Slide Guitar 

& is pretty brilliant on percussion too :)

Mason who was born into a musically talented family

had his phenomenal abilities from the very young age of 6.

Being able to play any style of music.

Mason has developed a natural rhythm that is now apart of his soul

& way of life.

Jamie Roberts 

The youngest band member ,

Is the very talented Bass Player in this Trio.

Through the whole gig Jamie does not stand still

He busts a move

while playing his boppy bass :)

His dreadlocks are pretty cool too :)

Jules Keshan is the Amazing Drummer of the band.

The man is a machine , 

His solos are mind blowing.

All of the Mason Rack Band Members are that talented

that they like to play swapsies.

With Mason moving from Lead Guitar to Drums ,

Jules from Drums to Bass Guitar 

& Jamie from Bass Guitar to Lead Guitar !!!!

Just Amazing Stuff

Ive never seen another band do that !!

The Mason Rack Band

have mastered the Genre of Blues & Rock.

There sound is out of this world &

There stage performance is an experience in itself.

The Mason Rack Band 

Have played alongside artists including

Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson , Buddy Guy & Keith Urban 

To name just a few.

They also play at Festivals such as :

* Blues On Broadbeach

*  Gympie Muster

* Little Big Fest

& Many More :)

My Absolute Favourite part of there show is 

when they get there groove on 

while playing Beer Kegs...

On Tables and Chairs ...

On the Floor &

Flipping there Drum sticks to eachother as they move 

around from keg to drum

Of which ive also posted a video on our Facebook Page :)

Kaz & I love these guys 

As there just Awesome Musicians 

& Great Guys 

We attend there gigs when there in town 

We wear there shirts

& Have there Cds & DVDs 

We wish them luck on there Europe Tour starting in May 

But hope they hurry back

so we can see them again soon :)

BEER TUESDAY & EASTER PREPERATIONS

So this week Kaz & I
Didnt do our typical BEER TUESDAY

As we had to run a few erands 

In preperation for the

Easter Holidays

We dropped kids off at school & headed to
Tweed Centro
Where we checked out Target
Kaz wanted to look at PJs for her kids
& there Egg selection

We didnt find much there
So we then headed off down to
Tweed City
Where we went to Kmart..Big W and Smiggle

This is what i ended up getting
not heaps
but atleast its a start ..lol
I dont like to get too much chocolate
so for my daughter i got eggs from Smiggle
that have cool erasers inside
that smell like chocolate
I think its cool as its something different.

Kaz got some of those Smiggle Eggs too
She found some cool PJs
And grabbed a good selection of Easter Eggs
for a Great Easter Egg Hunt :)

The kids also needed supplies to make
there Easter Hat Parade Creations
So we headed to the Dollar Tree
& i came home with this ....LOL :)

This was my son & I end result
He told me where he wanted everything placed
& Then helped me glue it on with the hot glue gun.
Hes super happy with it
& cant wait to wear it on Friday :)

Cant wait to see what Kaz created
with the goodies she got :)

We had done that much running around
Making sure we got everything
Our babies needed
that we decided we did deserve a beer afterall
& called into the Cabarita Beach Bar

Kaz & I were tired
It had been a big busy day

But Us Mums Are Awesome
We run around all day
& Then we
 Pick Kids Up
Do Grocery Shopping
Go Home
Put Washing On
Make Dinner
Make an Easter Hat
Put kids to Bed
Do Dishes
& Alot More

WHAT WOULD THEY DO WITHOUT US  !!!!
LOL :)

NSW DEVASTATING FLOODS :(

Well Sadly This Week 

Has Been An Adventure 

No One Wanted :(

CYCLONE DEBBIE !!!!

I thought that i would do this weeks blog 

on the devastating floods that have affected so many of us.

Not just in NSW 

But also In QLD :(

I thought i would post some pics 

of places close to my home that have been affected 

& also affected the beautiful people who are in my life xx

 I thought i would start with my home town of Tweed Heads. 

These first 3 pics are all of the Tweed Heads Area.

And so are the next few.

Ive taken screenshots of pics that were shared on Facebook

& give credit to the people who took them.

As they show the true affects of this disaster

 & how it has unfortunately hurt everyone

In its path  :(

Tweed Heads was eventually completely cut off 

& surrounded by water.

People were stuck on the M1 Highway in North & South directions

due to mass amounts of flood waters.

People were stuck sleeping in there cars for many hours..... 

 They were stuck away from home & there loved ones ......

some sadly for days .........

Watching & Waiting for the water to go down enough 

 for them to get back home again :(

Thousands of People were evacuated to

 Kingscliff Tafe

Or

 Banora High School

I had packed a bag ready

with Clothing ,,,Meds ...Toiletries...etc

Had the cat carrier & her food by the front door,

But for me by the time my evacuation warning came through

At 12 Midnight

My street & surrounding roads 

were already under water :(

Myself & My 2 Children stayed put

warm & safe in our home 

With the windows shaking from the howling gale force winds

& The rain bucketing down.

Now these are some pics of poor Murwillumbah

Which also copped an absolute hiding

due to Cyclone Debbie.

It has been a scary time ,

People in Small Towns were cut off from everywhere & everything...

Coles & Woolworths ran out of supplies such as Milk & Bread

As supply trucks couldnt get through flood waters for deliveries....

Schools were closed & evacuated....

Power went out....

Roads completely washed away...

Trees came crashing down...

Cars & Belongings floated away...

People were left stranded.

CABARITA BEACH 

Was also affected 

& these are some pics that were shared.

This is Clothiers Creek Road.

These 2 pics are of my poor friends family Turf Farm 

In Cabarita 

All there equipment & Turf all under water 

They were getting around in a canoe....

They lost power....:(

This is the way to Pottsville 

Pottsville was cut off from Tweed Heads & Byron Bay directions :(

Meadow Drive is in South Lismore

Those brown units on the right

is where my very good friend of 15years lives

with her 2 young children & her animals. 

Luckily she got out in time 

As the water rose even higher after this pic was taken :(

I cant even imagine the damage done to her property

Or what her family has lost

She has not been able to get back home yet to check,

It absolutely breaks my heart :(

These next pics are just amazing

they are from QLD 

But i just had to share them.

CYCLONE DEBBIE 

Has had an affect on all of us ..

I know alot of people have lost everything.....

I know some people have lost loved ones ....

I know alot of pets have been swept away or are missing too...

There is a big clean up to be ahead 

With millions of dollars worth of damage done.

But PLEASE  be careful

Not all of the water has gone

If it looks deep dont drive through it

As some roads remain closed for a reason

Be aware while cleaning up

you cant be sure what might be hidden in the debris

And most of all

Be Kind

As you never know how the people around us are coping 

from such a disaster 

And what they have been through :(
